Halloween Party

The Halloween Party was again a great success - thanks to Miss Tina and Sharon for all their hard work. Also well done to Fatsoules Face-Painting, who helped make the kids appear suitably terrifying...

Exams

Good luck to students in Level 9 who are taking their exams in December

English School Christmas Party |  (Last updated: 06/12/2011 )

Entrance is €2.00 per child including a free drink.  Please also bring a plate of food (ideally not cheese pies!). Raffle prize donations are now being collected at the school - please give generously. Assistance is required on the day to decorate etc - please contact Sharon Patsi if you can help out. These parties are essential to the school as it is a self-funding, non-profit making organisation and relies on the money from fundraising events.

Professional photographers will set up a Christmas themed backdrop for when the children receive their present from Santa: The cost of the photos (printed size 15x20cm) will be €3.50, to be paid in advance.  A normal backdrop will also be available for anyone who wants a family or individual portrait taken.

Children who do not attend the school are welcome - the more the merrier. The address is Emporiko Kentro Panagou, George Seferi St - just down from Mikes.

The Trojan Women |  (Last updated: 05/09/2011 )

During August and September there will be regular performances of Euripedes' tragedy'The Trojan Women'. This powerful play deals with the fate of the Trojan women following the fall of Troy and was extremely original in its portrayal of the terrible effects of war.  Each week there will be three performances in the Sound and Light theatre at 21:00 every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and one in Lindos on the  Thursday. Tickets are 15E for adults and 10E concessions. Performances are in (ancient) Greek, but I've found in the past that this is rarely a hinderance to enjoying Greek tragedy, especially if you bone up on the plot beforehand.

On Saturday, September 10 at 19:00 at the Sound and Light theatre the group 'Volunteers Rhodes' will be celebrating the first 50 tons of paper (1000 trees worth!) having been collected and sent for recycling.  There will be live rock music and 80s dance music, entrance is free.
