A Greek Tragedy, by Patrick Bryce

The sight of dead cats and dogs is appalling! Not just the loss of life but the fact that they are left to rot in the road.

Together with the sight of starving and abandoned animals all over the island, it is a smear on the name of Rhodes and something we all should be ashamed of.

There are already a number of good people who help these unfortunate animals and I hope they continue their good work, we need however to solve the root cause of the problem which is that these abandoned pets are left to breed unchecked.

I understand there is a small project of castration but it’s obvious that this is not good enough – who is willing to help me raise money to enlarge this project?

We also need to get the local government to pick up the bodies of these unfortunate victims as the effects of them being left on the roads damages the image of the island and in these difficult times the more help Rhodes gets the better.
